Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) is a Community Choice Aggregation agency established by local communities to source clean and renewable electricity for 435,000 customers in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara counties. 3CE's board of directors represents 35 local city and county governments throughout the Central Coast. 3CE is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through local control of utility-scale renewable electricity generation provided at competitive rates and the implementation of innovative energy programs that facilitate the electrification of transportation and built environments. 3CE promotes long-term electric rate stability and energy security while reducing reliance on fossil fuels and stimulating the local economy. 3CE is dedicated to serving the unique needs of our diverse community and achieving economic and environmental benefits through the advancement of renewable energy.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Central Coast Community Energy's (3CE) Internship program is aimed to provide a unique experience for current students and recent graduates in our service area in clean energy and public service. We are committed to providing meaningful learning and work experience in a professional environment. By participating as an intern, students and recent graduates will:

•  Learn about community choice aggregation programs
•  Improve communication and interpersonal skills
•  Gain career preparation
•  Develop a professional network
•  Participate and understand local government and clean energy
•  Receive personal satisfaction by helping people and their community
Duties will vary between departments.

Rotational Assignments: Interns may learn various aspects of public sector energy practices by rotating through various divisions within 3CE. Interns may have the opportunity to select which business sectors they'd like to learn about. A rotational assignment may include between two to four areas, depending on the length of the internship and departmental availability.
Timeframe:
Internships are available during the summer and fall and may range from 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the internship and your school schedule.

Summer internships generally run from the beginning of June until the end of July or mid-August. Fall interns may be employed from September through November.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for an internship the candidate must

•  Be at least 18 years old.
•  A student currently enrolled in college, university, or graduate program, or a recent college graduate within the past year.
•  A student/graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
•  Be interested in learning about careers in clean and renewable energy in the public sector environment and obtaining related work experience.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Additional Information:
Interns are not eligible for medical or dental benefits. Interns will be limited to 15 hours per week and will not exceed 600 hours in a fiscal year.
