Job Title: PACS/IT System Administrator
Location: Salinas, CA
Job Duration: 3+ Months (With Possible Extension)


Pay range: $45 - $50/hr. on W2

Job Description:

Duties:

Responsible for the operational resources for the PACS/CR.DR systems . Maintains current and future digital radiology systems in working order. Ensures proper use of the systems by the Diagnostic Imaging staff. Acts as a liaison in digital imaging initiatives within the department and other departments. Assists in the development of department policies and procedures. Assess technologist work and workflow for increase safety and efficiencies. Assists in performing diagnostic procedures when needed. Will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and manages the department during the director's absence.


Skills:

1. Critical and Analytical Thinking

a) Analyzes and maintains the integrity of the digital image flow from capture, transmission, storage, and soft and hard copy display to assure image quality excellence.

b) Plans and coordinates the activities of the DR, CR, and PACS (PACS/DRS) system's software implementation schedules, tailoring, report development and ongoing support, in a variety of applications and software packages.

c) Analyzes user needs to determine programming necessary to plan, update, flowchart, write, test, debug, document, and audit programs and operational procedures.

d) Implements process improvements to include flowcharting current workflow and propose redesign workflow in the digital environment.

e) Evaluates and recommends various hardware and software solutions to meet user needs.

f) Resolves problems when predefined solutions do not exist.


2. Technical Skills

a) Maintains PACS/DRS files, menus, tables, and parameters.

b) Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance with IT and outside vendors to solve simple PACS/DRS corrective measures .

c) Works with Information Technology (IT) to integrate the PACS and RIS systems to SITE HIS system .

d) Assures 24/7 operation of the PACS/DRS systems .

3. Communication (Oral and Written)

a) Develops and updates PACS/DRS procedure manual as required.

b) Develops, implements and documents the training of new employees on the use of PACS/DRS systems.

c) Maintains professional contacts with vendors.

d) Interacts with users and vendors through various phases of design, implementation, and maintenance for smooth operation and efficient workflow.

e) Assists customers with display and application issues.

f) Provides yearly updates on new and/or upgraded features of PACS/DRS systems.

g) Meets with all consumers of PACS/DRS information to understand their needs and manage opportunities for improvement.

h) Assists in the development of annual and long-range plans for PACS/DRS needs.
