This is a dual-role position that focuses on the clinical maintenance of the various Imaging information systems and also serves as a team member performing diagnostic radiographic examinations. This staff member works closely with and reports to the Imaging Services Director. PACS Administrator - serves as a clinical subject matter expert for the various Imaging information systems to include: PACS, PenRad, Change and Epic/Radiant. On a daily basis ensures that modality workflows, archiving and quality assurance of data are maintained for each system towards the goal of not incurring unexpected system downtime. Ensures that imaging reports cross over from PACS, PenRad and Change to Epic and reconciles those hung up in the interface work queue. Maintains a current inventory list of PACS workstations to include IP addresses and naming convention. Provides first line troubleshooting of PACS equipment and participates in testing of upgrades. The PACS Administrator provides training on the PACS for Imaging department staff members. This staff member also consults with vendors as needed to provide appropriate network data in regards to interfaces for imaging equipment. Acts as the clinical liaison between Imaging and Information Services to collaborate on information systems technical needs/issues. Radiographer I - when workload and staffing requires, performs diagnostic examinations on patients as ordered by the provider and directed by the radiologist. To obtain examinations of the highest quality, this staff member routinely utilizes a high level of clinical expertise and problem solving. Able to determine appropriateness of providers order in relationship to patients clinical signs and symptoms. Determines appropriate imaging views based on established protocols for each study. Reviews images for clarity and accuracy to assure the radiologist is able to clearly visualize the area of concern. The Radiographer maintains a positive customer service attitude when performing all duties. Conducts self in a professional and courteous manner during all customer interactions. Accepts personal responsibility for professional practice by adhering to standards of the profession. Carries out all responsibilities in line with the organization mission, vision and values. REQUIREMENTS: Associates in Radiology 1 year imaging Radiography Experience Registered Technologist-ARRT BLSP within 30 days of employment Certified PACS Associate (CPAS) within 18 months of employment PREFERRED: Information Services /RIS Environment Certified Imaging Informatics Professional Certified DICOM Integration Professional (CDIP) Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA)
