Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency is now hiring a Full Time Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our Amazing Emergency Overnight team.

Our Emergency Veterinary Technicians are responsible for the care and treatment of unstable and or critically ill patients, triaging emergency patients, monitoring hospitalized patients, performing patient laboratory tests, treatments and nursing care, admitting and discharging patients, client communication and education, and basic reception duties.

Role Responsibilities:

Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.

With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.

Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.

Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.

Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.

Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.

Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.

Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

Proficient in venipuncture, IVC placement
Basic drug calculations and administration
Anesthesia monitoring/ troubleshooting
Cytology and laboratory knowledge
Understanding of patient triage and CPR

Our ideal candidate:

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with 2 years experience, or an experienced non-licensed veterinary assistant with at least 4 years experience in emergency medicine

Strong communication skills

Possesses exceptional customer service skills

Works well on a team

Willing to work weekends and holidays

Hourly Wage: $19-$23 (noncertified advanced veterinary assistant) experience/$21-26 with RVT license + Our Generous Shift Differential of $2/hour from 11PM-8AM
