Reports to: Outside Sales Supervisor

Department: Sales and Marketing

Location: In Field: Yuba City, CA.

Location Status: Work will be primarily performed at a designated field worksite location based out of a central Race Communications worksite. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or other off-site locations will be required.

Pay: Salary + Bonus Incentive Potential Hourly rate $23-25/hr. Total anticipated yearly compensation between $48,000-85,000 annual

Summary:

As an Outside Sales Lead, you will be responsible for leading and growing Race Communications outside sales, driving sales strategies, and evaluating their effectiveness through timely reporting. You will possess strong leadership skills, a proven track record in sales management, and the ability to develop and implement innovative sales approaches.

This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while maintaining a productive professional demeanor. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • A valid California driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory
  • Two or more years of sales experience required
  • Two or more years of leadership experience
  • Proven foundation and understanding of marketing and digital landscape
  • Experience in platforms such as Hubspot, Salesforce, or other CRMs
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication
  • Proficiency in Spanish Language a plus

  • Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Team Leadership and Support:
  • Oversees a team of outside sales representatives
  • Provides ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring for local team of outside sales representatives
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment to maximize productivity and morale
  • Performs monthly performance evaluations and provides reports for management review
  • Leads by example and follows guidelines and policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook
Sales Outreach and Customer Engagement:
  • Sources new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services
  • Identifies, assesses, and understands customer needs and requirements to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Identifies potential sales opportunities, and generates interest and sales opportunities
  • Builds relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication (listening)
Sales Goals and Performance:
  • Conducts monthly sales evaluations and provides reports for management review
  • Meets or exceeds monthly sales goals set by your manager
  • Manages creation and presentation of quotations for opportunities as they are identified
  • Generates new business and promotes growth of Race products
Product Knowledge and Customer Service:
  • Gains and retains extensive product knowledge as well as detailed comprehension of customer's requirements for Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television products
  • Provides accurate, valid, and complete information when using our CRM and other software as provided
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Keeps detailed records of customer interactions, processes customer accounts, and files documents
  • Follows sales team procedures and guidelines, along with policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook
Sales Campaigns and Events:
  • Participates in sales and marketing campaigns and attends outside events (travel required)
Travel and Working Conditions:
  • Works and travels to other service locations throughout CA and beyond in inclement weather
  • Spends time in a vehicle daily, outside or inside Race clients businesses or residents
  • Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
Lead Responsibilities:
  • Leads and supports employees with Safety and Compliance matters within multiple departments in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws
  • As this role develops, lead responsibilities may include direct supervision of subordinates, along with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:
  • Supports recruiting efforts as needed
  • Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
  • Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
  • Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members
  • Support routine tasks
  • Maintain a professional appearance, hygiene, and demeanor

All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Tehachapi, Yuba City, Chico, or South San Francisco, CA.
