(Physician/MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (General) - Opportunity to join the largest community health center network in Sonoma County, providing medical care, mental health services and dental care at nine health centers that serve nearly 50,000 patients each year.

The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric treatment to patients referred from primary care physicians at the Health Center clinics and from the Sonoma County Department of Mental Health Services.

The Psychiatrist performs psychiatric diagnosis, treatment interpretations and recommendations.
Provide effective treatment for psychiatric patients; formulate, implement and evaluate treatment plans. Diagnoses, treats and dispenses medication. Practices psychiatry in a community mental health delivery system. Maintains confidentiality of information in accordance with applicable laws. Communicates with primary care physicians regarding mental health status of referred patients.

Provides consultation to primary care physicians and other mental behavioral health staff. Prepares and maintains clear, concise and comprehensive records, reports and correspondence. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Participates effectively as a supportive member of the Mental Health Department team. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, other departments, agencies and the general public. Participates in ongoing training.
