locations Great Bend, KS time type Full time posted on Posted 5 Days Ago job requisition id R-34225 Position Title Outpatient Infusion RN (Days,Full time, Great Bend Campus) Great Bend Hospital Position Summary / Career Interest: Under the supervision of the nursing department's management, the RN assumes the responsibility for the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation needed to deliver safe, evidence based care within their scope of practice. Responsibilities: Collects and assesses initial and on-going data about the health status of the patient. Initiates and/or revises an individualized plan of care that includes immediate and long-term outcomes for the patient/family and reflects the plan of the entire health care team. Carries out interventions safely and in compliance with policy to facilitate achievement of expected outcomes. Evaluates patient response to intervention/therapy based upon expected outcomes. Provides patient education by explaining procedures, medications and giving instructions at a level the patient can understand; addresses patient's questions and concerns; verifies patient informed consent when indicated. Documents and communicates all required components of patient care. Provides direct patient care in the inpatient perioperative setting. Documents and communicates all required components of patient care on chart forms, birth certificates, and computer. Initiates fetal heart monitor, performs vaginal exams, interprets fetal heart tones and determines frequency duration and intensity of contractions. Monitors progress of laboring mothers, interprets fetal heart monitor and notifies physician when appropriate for progress or problems. Assists mother and labor coach with breathing exercises, pain management techniques and administers pain medication as ordered. Prepares birthing room for delivery using strict sterile technique. Prepares mothers for elective or emergency Cesarean Section by following written C-Section protocol. Provides emotional support to mother and coach, obtains proper consents and pre-op diagnostic studies and coordinates smooth transfer to surgery. Provides patient education by explaining procedures, medications and giving instructions at a level the patient can understand; addresses patient's questions and concerns; verifies patient informed consent when indicated. Documents and communicates all required components of patient care. Works collaboratively with the physician and the anesthesia health care providers to determine patient needs undergoing surgical procedures and to assume responsibility for patient care, document and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care. JOB REQUIREMENTS Required: Requirements at Birthing Center Current Kansas Registered Nurse License Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must have plan to obtain BSN approved by chief nursing officer in some cases, the chief nursing officer may approve experience or certifications as a substitute for BSN requirement. Knowledge of general nursing and practice required. Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing. BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment ACLS Certification and NRP certification required within six month of employment. Fetal Heart Monitoring and STABLE required within one year of employment. Additional certification may be required for certain patient care settings or populations. Requirements at Special Services Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN required or must obtain within 4 years of employment; knowledge of general nursing theory and practice Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standards of nursing practices for care of specific medical cases. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing. BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment. Requirements at Short Stay Surgery Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN required or must obtain within 4 years of employment Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice. Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standards of nursing practices for care of specific medical cases. Additional educational training assigned within 90 days of hire and annually as outlined in the accreditation plan. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing. BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment ACLS certification Requirements at Wound Healing CTR Current Kansas Registered Nurse License Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing certification in nursing administration or appropriate specialty preferred; related experience preferred BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment Requirements at Operating Room Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN required or must obtain within 4 years of employment Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standards of nursing practices for care of specific medical cases. Additional educational training assigned within 90 days of hire and annually as outlined in the accreditation plan. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment ACLS certification Requirements at Heart Cath Lab Current Kansas Registered Nurse License Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) Knowledge of general nursing and practice Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment. ACLS certification required or must complete after six months of meeting base competencies; additional certification may be required for certain patient care settings or populations. Requirements at Nursing ICU Current Kansas Registered Nurse License Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must have plan to obtain BSN approved by chief nursing officer; in some cases, the chief nursing officer may approve experience or certifications as a substitute for BSN requirement. Knowledge of general nursing and practice required. Cardiac Rhythms class required or must complete within six months of employment. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas. ACLS certification required or must complete after six months of meeting base competencies BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment. As of April 1, 2016: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) or six hours of trauma education (pre-approved by the trauma director) within two years of employment. Must maintain current TNCC or TCAR every four years or six hours of trauma education (pre-approved by trauma director) annually. Requirements at Nursing Acute Current Kansas Registered Nurse License Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must have plan to obtain BSN approved by chief nursing officer; in some cases, the chief nursing officer may approve experience or certifications as a substitute for BSN requirement Knowledge of general nursing and practice required. Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing. BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment ACLS Certification additional certification may be required for certain patient care settings or populations. Requirements at Interventional Bachelors degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred or a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice. Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standards of nursing practices for care of specific medical cases. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing. ACLS and BLS certification required or must complete ACLS and BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment. Port-a-Cath access training required or must complete training with in the first two weeks of employment.
