SUMMARY The Pediatric ENT will be responsible to provide care and treatment of ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions in infants, children and adolescents. This includes treating a wide range of specialties, such as routine pediatric ENT disorders, congenital and acquired hearing loss, endoscopic ear and sinus disorders. Block OR time will be available at the Stamford Surgery Center. There will be availability to perform larger cases at the main hospital in Hartford. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat patients from birth through adolescent. Analyze medical histories, diagnostic lab test and x-ray results, clinical examinations and perform physical examinations in formulating a diagnosis, plan of care and documenting in conformity with applicable professional standards, third party payer requirements and the Division's policies and procedures. Prescribes clinically appropriate medication and treatment for each patient. Works collaboratively with and refers patients to other physicians, including specialists and other health care practitioners, when necessary. Performs and/or orders clinically appropriate procedures for each patient. Consults with Medical Director, Division Chief and other medical professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues. Maintains professionalism and follows code of conduct Keeps and maintains accurate, complete, appropriate, timely and legible medical records relating to all professional services provided. Uses and promotes evidence-based clinical practice. Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention. Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital. Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner. Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients. Perform other duties as assigned. Academic appointments may be available with the University of Connecticut. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The physician will oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APRNs & PAs). EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MD or DO Degree Successful completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Otolaryngology 2 years of experience preferred LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS Licensed and registered, and in good standing under the laws of the State of Connecticut BC/BE Otolaryngology Registration certificate from the Drug Enforcement Administration ("DEA certificate")
