The Orthopedic Technician is responsible and accountable for providing patient care under the guidance and supervision of licensed personnel, and the delivery of orthopedic and surgical services following hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care. College coursework in anatomy and physiology, preferred. Experience: One year previous Orthopedic Technologist experience, preferred. One year of healthcare experience, preferred. Licensure/Certification: National Certification of Orthopedic Technologists, preferred. Additional Skills (required): Cast application and removal Setting up and removal of traction, Suture removal Pin extraction (Knee, Elbow, Ankle, Pavlik Harness, Bebax Shoes), Wound cleansing and dressing application. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
