CNY Fertility, Syracuse is seeking a full time Registered Nurse to join our patient transfer department.

Summary: Performs patient-specific duties in the area of fertility including patient care, teaching, triage, procedures, and protocol in a patient transfer setting under the direction of the physician by performing the following duties.

Required Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Administers medications and follows medication protocols.
  1. Starts, maintains, and discontinues IV lines.
  1. Triages patient problems, questions, and concerns to the appropriate area.
  1. Communicates, reviews, records all laboratory results.
  1. Maintains factual and thorough health care records.
  1. Prepares patients for procedures outlined below.

7. Participates in staff development, nursing conferences, infectious disease classes, and continuing education pertaining to area of expertise.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of technical training. Must be a graduate of an approved registered nursing program

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
  • Medical Terminology
  • Demonstrate proficiency in injections
  • Demonstrate proficiency in venipunctures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administering oral medications
  • Time management skills

Certificates and Licenses:

New York State Registered Nurse License

CPR/BLS

ACLS
