Description

The OR Radiographer reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The OR Radiographer performs radiologic procedures under the medical direction of an attending radiologist to generate information necessary for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of inpatients and/or outpatients. Services are provided in accordance with industry standards, department protocols, and hospital policies and procedures.

In addition to performing all of the duties of a Staff Radiographer, an OR Radiographer performs all OR/Surgical related radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging procedures, operates all surgery equipment including but not limited to portables, C-Arms and Vascular rooms, performs and supports Lithotripsy surgical procedures as needed, and takes on specified additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager and Resource Coordinator.

Qualifications

Required:

State of Illinois, Department of Nuclear Safety license (IDNS)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
CPR Certification (BLS)
Graduate of an accredited school/college of Radiologic Technology
Analytical ability is required
Communication skill is required in order to teach and lead
Ability to interact effectively and collaborate with others in challenging situations
Work requires the ability to walk throughout the medical center campus and requires standing or walking most of the designated shift
Work requires lifting or carrying objects 35-40 lbs, and lifting and positioning patients, some of whom may exceed 300 lbs
The ability to visually check documents for errors, use a keyboard to enter or retrieve data, manage equipment and examine specimens, images or reports is required
Work conditions include performing procedures where carelessness could result in injury or illness and/or contact with potentially infectious materials, radioactive elements and/or strong, hazardous chemical agents.

Preferred:

Baccalaureate degree
