To apply, click "Apply to Job" online on this web page. Optics Designer Responsibilities Architect and design optical display engines and components for next generation AR and VR experience. Lead and direct optical design activities across the team, including design, simulation, analysis, prototype, build, and test. Establish and document optical engineering specifications, including key performance metrics and test requirements for optical system and components. Work cross-functionally with internal partner teams on supplier selection. Perform sensitivity and tolerance analysis aligned with industry supply chain and assembly partners capabilities. Contribute to future optics technology roadmap and scope out New Technology Introduction (NTI). Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external industry partners to develop and mature state-of-the-art technologies (such as material, process, metrology, and design) to extend the horizon of AR or VR experience. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related field and two years of experience in the job offered or a module design or optical engineering-related occupation. Requires two years of experience in the following: 1. Research or advanced optics development 2. Design/manufacturing of small form-factor optical systems 3. Multiple full life cycle product launches 4. Working with cross-functional and multidisciplinary design teams such as electrical, mechanical, process, test, firmware, software and operations 5.
