Requisition No: 826973 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: OPS HEALTH EDUCATOR - Pay Plan: Temp Position Number: Salary: $19.00/hour Posting Closing Date: 04/19/2024 Total Compensation Estimator Tool Open Competitive Opportunity Your Specific Responsibilities: This is a highly responsible and independent position focused on the development and facilitation of community health programs in Columbia and Hamilton County. The incumbent will be the primary contact for maternal and child health (MCH) grant funded projects and workplans, the Tobacco Free Moms and Babies Initiative, and will be the lead for the health equity program workplan. Specific duties include: Create, implement, and facilitate a health equity task force, and a Health Equity Plan. The goal of this plan is the identification and prioritization of public health gaps through community coalitions and partnerships, including internal and external stakeholders and partners. Work closely with county health department (CHD) foundational planning coordinator in the development and implementation of community health improvement plans and strategic plans. Drafting goals and objectives that align with grant or program deliverables and expectations. Collect and analyze related program data for trends and themes. Draft and submit reports to the applicable program office within the specified timeframe. Attend regular meetings and training related to programmatic areas. Active participation in collaborative community partnership meetings with local partners and stakeholders. Draft meeting agendas and record minutes of meetings. Planning and maintenance of program budget for both counties. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient use of Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal communication. Ability to facilitate meetings with internal and external partners. Ability to deliver public health information to communities or citizens. Ability to collect and review data related to program areas. Qualifications: Minimum - High School Diploma Preferred - Preference will be given to those with post-secondary coursework in a related field.
