The Work: Patient-Centric Approach: Conduct interviews to obtain comprehensive patient history. Provide clear and empathetic patient instructions regarding testing procedures. Clinical Expertise: Showcase your clinical skills by performing basic and routine vision screening examinations. Administer eye medications and lend support during minor office procedures. Documentation and Care: Document care provided, testing results, and patient responses with meticulous attention to detail. Practice Maintenance: Play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and ophthalmic instruments. Ensure supplies are well-stocked to support a smooth workflow. Administrative Support: Contribute to the efficiency of the practice by assisting with clerical duties, including scheduling and patient registration. You Bring: Certifications: Certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification is preferred.
