The Operations Manager will report to the General Manager. The primary responsibility of the Operations Manager is to manage the operations and manufacturing by safely delivering the financial objectives. He/she will be measured on both financial and non-financial indicators directly related to safety, profitability, quality, on-time delivery, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Works with the General Manager to develop manufacturing operating plans in accordance with company policies, goals and objectives.

Assists in delivering set financial objectives by reaffirming existing production goals or setting new goals then leading the team to achieve these goals.

manages and directs day to day operations to meet demand and on time shipments to customer.

forecasts labor requirements aligned with demand for production to meet timely completion of projects.

Collaborates with all cross functional departments to meet KPI's and reporting o such to corporate leadership.

Monitors performance and drives continuous improvement actions by identifying improvement opportunities and issuing corrective actions as needed to achieve desired results.

Delivers operational excellence through optimizing capacities, lowering cost and providing increased value to the customer base. Owns cost savings and working capital reduction initiatives by ensuring adequate incoming supplies while managing inventory levels.

Directs the implementation of lean and flexible production systems by applying productivity tools such as TPM, 5S, standard work, work balance and product flow techniques across the facility.

Effectively communicates with others within and outside the immediate work group to ensure consistent quality assurance and process excellence procedures, controls and feedback.

Links established processes and leadership execution in the areas of Environmental Health and Safety in keeping with the company's proud legacy of attention to safety and the environment.

Ensures adequate people development plans and capable succession plans are in place.

Constructs compelling development plans for direct reports and executes them

Strategic ability clearly articulating credible pictures and a vision of possibilities for the business. Effectively creating mileposts to rally support behind the vision.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline

Minimum 10 years management experience in a machining or manufacturing environment

Experience with Lean manufacturing

Experience leading and implementing LEAN manufacturing initiatives.

Broad knowledge of machining practices and manufacturing processes or supply chain processes.

Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team facilitation, experience utilizing structured problem-solving methods (8D) and solid conflict management ability.

Experience optimizing processes and achieving on-going cost reductions. Strong financial literacy.

Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment. MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, e-mail.

Experience working within an ISO environment.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Proven leadership ability and results orientation

Outstanding mediating, negotiating, and influencing skills

Demonstrated ability to train, develop, and motivate subordinates.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
