Seeking an Operations Manager for a leader in the injections molding segment for precision parts in Miami Lakes, FL.


MUST HAVE INJECTION MOLDING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE.


Salary: $140 - $150/K with a 10% annual bonus. Benefits include, but are not limited to: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability, 401K paid holidays and vacation time.


Full-time, on-site position.

Job Summary:

Provides leadership to the production teams and quality teams to drive a culture of operational excellence focused on exceeding customer quality and delivery expectations.

Drives Lean culture of waste reduction in all areas of the plant with a focus on operational excellence through process capability and continual improvement.

Ensures health and safety culture instilled and followed by all team members in the plant. Continuously improves shop floor organization and cleanliness to exceed 5S standards.

Works with launch teams to ensure successful launch of new programs, refurbished tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Works with the management team to support the overall vision of the company and implements strategic plans for the production teams and quality teams.


Basic Qualifications:

8-10 years demonstratable experience of leading teams to success and process improvement initiatives implementation across operational manufacturing and business management settings. Injection molding specific experience highly preferred.

5 years of leading management teams to success in a production manufacturing environment.

Strong leadership skills, ability to mentor, coach, and motivate team members. Strong working knowledge of core manufacturing principles including metrics management, capacity planning, financial budgeting, labor planning, scheduling, material flow, inventory management, lead time and waste reduction.

Hands on working experience leading and implementing a variety of tools to drive Lean conversion and elimination of waste. Tools include 5S, Standard Work, visual/daily management, problem solving process, Kaizen and Hoshin facilitation, value stream mapping, and Lean Six Sigma.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral

Excellent customer / client relationship skills that include the ability to proactively manage customer / client expectations, recognize their needs and adapt company capabilities to consistently meet their requirements.

Strong ability to solve problems and drive change.

Experience in the automotive industry & IATF standards preferred.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees plant floor activities to ensure efficient and safe work operations, leading the production leadership teams in allocating and managing resources to achieve optimal standards of performance and productivity.

Coordinates activities with all departments to ensure that all customer and internal quality and delivery targets are constantly met or exceeded.

Works with cross functional operations teams to create or improve processes and procedures where necessary to improve performance and/or reduce waste.

Assists problem solving teams for resolving quality issues, processing issues, delivery issues, or any other issues that are preventing the plant from performing at optimal levels.

Drives focused improvement activities on the shop floor to reduce scrap, improve OEE, improve efficiencies, and remove waste. Utilizes "Lean" approach where applicable in creating waste reduction culture.

Coaches the production manager and production teams to develop and implement action plans for achieving production related targets and KPIs.

Coaches the quality team to effectively respond to customer issues and create long term collaborative relationship focused on "win win" solutions.

Analyzes performance data and trends and implements effective process improvements that are sustainable for the plant.

Drive strategic planning and forecasting for production and quality departments, creates annual budgets, and manages team activities to meet or exceed budget targets.

Determines optimal organizational structure for production and quality teams. Works with the HR team to ensure effective training programs are created and implemented.

Works with the HR team and relevant operations personnel on key strategic recruiting and orientation plans and initiatives.

Supports APQP activities as required to ensure successful launches meeting all internal and customer requirements. Ensures cross functional teams are working effectively and collaboratively towards successful run at rates.

Creates a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees in the plant to provide feedback and drive change within the facility, adapting to the ever-changing business and staying focused on ensuring the customer experience is achieved.

Upholds all Health & Safety and sustainability policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Holds team accountable for safety and drives a safety culture across all production operations.

Lead and drives continuous improvement to include production methods, productivity, delivery performance, equipment performance, product quality, scrap, and re-work reduction.

Works in collaboration to determine capital expense needs for production departments and submits capital request for pre-determined projects, ensuring all necessary documents, quotes and analysis is complete for capital submission approval.

Establishes dashboards with clear and concise set of Operational Efficiency Metrics that department and shift supervisors will use to track performance and productivity on a per shift basis.

Builds a culture of excellence in quality standard and systems, metrics, and reporting throughout the manufacturing organization.
