Controller-level Consulting Need
Our long standing manufacturing client is seeking a meticulous and strategic Controller to take the lead on "standing up" a the financial operations of a small subsidiary. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, compliance regulations, and project management. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
This is a full-time consulting engagement, estimated to last 9-12 months.
Responsibilities:

Government Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to government regulations and compliance requirements.
- Oversee project-based accounting for government contracts, including cost-sharing agreements.
- Manage the financial aspects of projects involving the erection of buildings and supply of equipment for government entities.

Financial Reporting:
- Analyze and improve the current reporting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams to understand transaction flows and identify areas for improvement in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Address any discrepancies in reporting and implement solutions to streamline procedures.

Team Infrastructure:
- Build and develop the accounting team, making recommendations for hiring based on skillset and workload.
- Provide guidance on staffing needs and allocate resources effectively to support increased transaction volume.

Intercompany Transactions:
- Manage intercompany billings wand oversee labor-related transactions.
- Liaise with subsidiaries, including the Polish entity responsible for PBC board manufacturing, to ensure smooth coordination and financial transparency.

International Presence:
- Utilize experience in dealing with European entities to navigate international transactions effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA/CPA designation a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on government compliance and project-based accounting.
- Strong understanding of government regulations and compliance requirement is a plus
- Experience in managing financial reporting processes and improving efficiency.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Prior experience in international transactions and dealing with European entities is a plus.
