Job Title Open Rank Clinical Track and Director, Master of Science - Athletic Training Agency Tarleton State University Department Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Stephenville, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description The Department of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Health and Clinical Professions , College of Health Sciences invites qualified candidates to apply for the Open-Rank Clinical Track and Director, Master of Science - Athletic Training position located on Tarleton's main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Individuals interested in this position must have a passion for working with rural and/or underserved communities and the desire to advance the role of athletic training in traditional and emerging settings. This is a 12-month appointment. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate. Requires the ability to teach and/or work remotely at the University's discretion. The Program Director is responsible for providing leadership and support for faculty and staff in the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program following guidelines set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) Standards for the Accreditation of Professional Athletic Training Programs. This includes the planning and continued assessment of the programmatic framework including but not limited to its didactic and clinical components. The Program Director will also work to recruit and retain well-rounded faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities: 40% The MSAT Program Director: + Plans, evaluates, and adapts the programmatic components utilizing a developmental framework + Works collaboratively with the Coordinator of Clinical Education in the selection and maintenance of clinical sites + Maintains CAA TE accreditation ensuring program adherence to standards + Provides course instruction within the MSAT and any ancillary departments as needed + Provides academic advising for MSAT students as well as prospects when needed + Communicate with all stakeholders in the program + Manages budgetary aspects of the program + Maintains contemporary expertise in the field of athletic training + Engages in an active scholarly agenda working in collaboration with interdisciplinary faculty, staff, and students + Must take an active role in accreditation-related tasks and other institutional service activities 60% Teaching and Service: + Develop, implement, and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology, and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline; Develop a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes; Work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify professional development activities to improve student learning. May be required to teach at other campuses or online. Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry; Work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation. Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorship, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty. Education and Experience: + Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited university by the time of appointment. + Candidate must also be a certified athletic trainer (BOC) and be eligible for Texas state licensure (LAT) upon hire + Possess an NPI Number + Previous teaching experience in a CAATE-accredited athletic training program + The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and master's students + Minimum 3 years clinical experience + Rank will be determined by reviewing the faculty member's record of years of experience and professional achievements in teaching and service consistent with the Texas A&M system guidance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrated ability in the discipline and showing clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching and service.
