Job Title: GIS Database Architect
Location: St. Paul, MN
Duration: 6+ months
Responsibilities: We are seeking a skilled GIS Database Architect to join our team. As a GIS Database Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining GIS databases to support spatial data management and analysis activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), database design, and spatial data management.
Specific responsibilities include:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining the GIS data environment for enterprise data.
Redesigning and optimizing existing GIS databases
Creating, implementing, and documenting data standards
Managing Esri ArcGIS Enterprise GIS Databases within the SQL Server environment.
Develop data models and database schemas to support spatial data analysis and visualization.
Optimize database performance for spatial queries and data processing tasks.
Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and design appropriate database solutions.
Perform data quality assurance and validation to ensure the accuracy and consistency of spatial data.
Document database designs, data models, and data workflows for reference and training purposes
B.S. or B.A. Degree Master's degree Preferred Five - years of experience in a GIS Database Admin/Architect Role

GIS Databases Architecture and Management:
Designs databases that leverage GISonly data types networks, topology, relationship classes, utility networks, etc.
Designs database to include ArcGISnative organizational configurations domains, subtypes, etc
Designs data and databases following GIS data standards
Manages ArcGIS SDE
Deploys and manages ArcGIS data versioning and branching
Manages granting and revoking data permissions
SQL
Database management through SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio
Script SQL queries and spatial data views
Python
Database management and automations via Python scripting
Knowledge Python modules arcpy, arcgis, pyodbc, pandas, sqlalchemy
Documentation
Authors, curates, and ensures efficient documentation and metadata for GIS end users
Designs and authors relational database whiteboards
Work Environment
