Position Summary Odyssey is looking for a Offsite-Medical Microbiology Technologist to support the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Multi-drug resistant organism Repository and Surveillance Network (MRSN) by providing in real-time surveillance of Multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria and outbreak investigation assistance across the entire Military Healthcare System (MHS). Contingent upon contract award Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to: Ability to collect MDROs and submit for the phenotypic and genotypic characterization. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in performing clinical microbiology including identification and antibiotic susceptibility tests. Basic knowledge of NGS technologies, including long and short-read sequencing platforms. Basic knowledge and experience in DNA extraction and DNA sequencing library preparations. Contingent upon contract award Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance : Secret (able to obtain) Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory science or in a related science (e.g., laboratory science such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, immunology etc.) Years' experience: 5 years of experience Accreditation: MT/ CLS/MLT certification by the ASCP, NCA, or AMT Additional Information: Location: Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), HI Travel: 25% Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Onsite Contingent upon contract award Company Overview Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, is an innovative small business committed to providing world-class technical, management, and training support services to government and public sector clients.
