Project On-board QC Engineer

The Project On-board QC Engineer's main responsibility is coordinating, executing, and supporting the CONTRACTOR'S inspections during offshore completion activities and ensure that the contractual requirements in terms of QA/QC are met.

Rotation will start middle of June. 4-5 months of work expected. Schedule is 6 on and 6 off.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, support, and verify that CONTRACTOR'S and Subcontractor's (if any) Quality Inspections are conducted as per approved ITP and that inspection results are in accordance with Contractual requirements;
  • Conduct / monitor / verify inspections at own discretion of various types of completion activities, as per approved ITP, including ad-hoc inspections where deemed necessary;
  • Witness final take-over walkdown inspections with Employer; ensure final take-over walkdown inspection is recorded accurately;
  • Record punch items & maintain and monitor punch items list per location
  • Close-out punch items as per procedure, including any additional inspections or client witnessing that may be required
  • Record inspections in Omnimove as per procedure, as appropriate
  • Monitor ITP follow-up to completion if done by others (e.g. field engineers)
  • Supervise and verify subcontractor QC activities and records (coating, welding, etc.); conduct or arrange for field checks if necessary;
  • Offshore representation of Contractor's interest & Liaise with Employer's representative(s), OCM and Marine Warranty Surveyor;
  • Assist OCM / FE / on board team;
  • Prepare, record, and communicate NCR reports and punch list items in accordance with project specific procedures, if required;
  • Communicate (or escalate) relevant QA/QC information or concerns to and liaise with onshore Project Management Team;
  • Ensure all inspection results and punch list items are recorded, reviewed, submitted, and filed as per Boskalis procedures (ITP) and verified against Contractual requirements;
  • Coordination, monitoring, and verification of follow-up status of NCR corrective actions and punch list items until close-out;
  • Comply with applicable HSE requirements and standards are met on site and work in accordance with Boskalis NINA standards and principles;
  • Participate in CONTRACTOR'S daily meetings and Go/No Go meetings;
Skills, Competences and Qualifications
  • Technical/Business education on Bachelor level;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Quality Assurance and (preferably) Quality Control within the offshore (wind) industry, oil & gas industry, or heavy constructions industry;
  • Basic knowledge of materials, manufacturing techniques (welding, coating);
  • Accurate and impartial reporting skills;
  • NACE level 3 or Frosio Level 3 certificate is preferred;
  • ISO NDT level 3 is preferred (VT, MT, UT)
  • Work at height training completed within past 2 years, preferably GWO,
  • BOSIET & HUET, or equivalent;
  • Training completed as per Boskalis training matrix;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Has proper understanding of the Conditions of contract, Employer's Requirements, Project specific procedures and relevant standards and achieve the required inspection level;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, as a minimum MS Word and MS Excel;
  • Confident and experienced in a diplomatic role towards Employer (representative);
  • Proficient / trained in the use of Boskalis' proprietary applications and systems such as Relatics, Omnimove, SharePoint.

GWO training required.

Must be US citizen or resident. NO VISA's will be acdepted for this role.
