OLDHAM COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION JOB DESCRIPTION: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST 1022.08AR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Kentucky Standard Certificate for School Psychologist. REPORTS TO: Director of Exceptional Children Services JOB GOAL: School psychologists support students' learning, social development, and mental and behavioral health using problem solving, assessment, data-based decision making, and the delivery of evidenced based interventions. School psychologists collaborate and consult with educators, families and other professionals to help create safe, healthy and supportive learning environments for all students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide consultation and training for relevant topics to school and district staff. Participate in school wide MTSS team as a standing member and use assessment and data-collection methods to implement and evaluate services that support socialization, learning, and mental and behavioral. health for all students. Completion of behavior observations when required to guide both intervention, assessment and Individual Education Plan planning. Create function-based intervention plans for tiered intervention and complete Functional Behavior Assessments for special education students. Provide indirect and direct services with students, including but not limited to behavioral supports, psychoeducational intervention and social skills training in individual and group settings. Evaluate students who may need specially designed instruction within mandated timelines. Complete re-evaluation of all students identified as having a disability within mandated timelines. Administration of appropriate battery of tests to include individual intelligence tests, academic tests and social/emotional ratings. Provide written reports and maintenance of appropriate records. Attendance at Admissions and Release Committee (ARC) meetings that involve referrals, consent for evaluation/reevaluation and following the completion of evaluations. Consult and collaborate with colleagues, students, families and other stakeholders to promote effective implementation of services. Assessments for Gifted and Talented Identification and acceleration identification, as needed, and participation in district Gifted and Talented Identification Committee. Provide consultation and participate in 504 meetings, as requested. Provide consultation to parents as needed. Assist with Child Find activities.
