Occupational Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY: T he Occupational Therapist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation
services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. The in-home setting could be a patient's private residence or in a patient's room in an independent living facility. Vitality to You allows the Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat in the most functional environment which is the patient's home. The Occupational Therapist organizes and conducts occupational therapy programs for the agency to facilitate rehabilitation. In addition, he/she directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. The Occupational Therapist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology. This position provides a flexible schedule and work environment in various settings.

Requirements:
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. They must be a graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by AOTA & ACOTE standards; or
2. They must have a Bachelor's degree from an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by AOTA & ACOTE standards plus 5 years of progressively responsible OT experience.
3. They must have initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
4. They must be able to practice occupational therapy per state guidelines.
5. The Occupational Therapist must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.
6. Must have a valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patients' residence.
