An Occupational Therapist in a home healthcare setting helps a patient regain and maintain mobility, strength, and a level of function that leads to positive patient outcomes. OTs establish goals and provide patient education on improving balance, walking, and preventing decline after an illness or surgery. Occupational Therapists also assess the home environment to ensure safe mobility is achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and/or certified by successfully completing the National Certification examination or is eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Acceptance of philosophy and goals of this Agency.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to return the individual to optimum and productive level within the patient's capabilities.
