Virtus Healthcare Staffing Seeks Occupational Therapist for Assisted & Independent Living Center in Chambersburg, PA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with an assisted and independent living center in Chambersburg, PA to find a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled OT to make a positive impact on the lives of residents by helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for residents to assess their functional abilities and needs.

Develop individualized treatment plans that address each resident's specific goals, focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and leisure activities.

Utilize a variety of occupational therapy techniques to improve residents' strength, coordination, endurance, and cognitive skills.

Provide education and training to residents, families, and caregivers on how to safely and effectively perform ADLs and IADLs.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, physicians, social workers, and therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.

Document progress in residents' medical records and participate in care conferences.

Maintain a safe and resident-centered treatment environment.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date on current occupational therapy practices.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) from an accredited program.

Valid Occupational Therapy License in the state of Pennsylvania.

Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a geriatric setting (preferred).

Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Ability to document effectively in medical records.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an assisted and independent living setting.

Knowledge of evidence-based occupational therapy practices for geriatric populations.

Experience with ADL/IADL training and adaptations.

Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
