THE JOB

Responsible for the overall management of the OB/GYN department. The OB/GYN DIRECTOR aids the Medical Director and CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER by providing clinical leadership. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Functions

Develop physician office, and call schedules for respective department.

Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate OB/GYN Physicians, and mid-level OB/GYN Providers. Assist the manager in supervising medical assistants performance of OB/GYN medical tasks and skills.

Examines patients, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis of disease, illness and injury and decides care plan, or follow-up procedures.

Instruct nurses, medical assistants, back-office assistants regarding assistance with patient care.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Most importantly, you need to be a passionate OB/GYN DIRECTOR who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal OB/GYN DIRECTOR would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

2-5 Years experience in medicine, preferably in a group setting

Ability to work effectively with as team player.

Ability to suggest and write policies and procedures specific to the OB/GYN department.

Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Completion of a four-year undergraduate, 4 years Medical School, 1-year rotating Internship, 2 years Residency

Board Certified OB/GYN M.D. or D.O. degree.

Current Arizona license

Experience as a Chief of Obstetrics or Chief of Medical Staff

Experience supervising, planning, assigning, and directing work of OB/GYN Providers and support staff.

Experience as a member or peer review committee, surgical care committee, or similar committees.

Administrative and Management experience

Minimum Education: Board Certified OB/GYN M.D. or D.O. degree.
