: Teaching: The new faculty member will be expected to teach and develop a selection of undergraduate and graduate level courses within the Didactic Program in Dietetics, Nutrition Science, and Nutrition and Health curriculums, including but not limited to the following undergraduate courses: Introduction to Nutrition, Metabolism, Nutrition Research, Lifecycle, and Vegetarian and Plant Based Diets. Graduate courses would include Recent Advances in Nutrient Metabolism and other courses that may be developed by the new faculty member within his/her expertise, specifically in emerging and innovative areas such as, but not limited to, plant-based diets and nutrition, gut microbiome, and integrated and functional nutrition and health. Research/Scholarship: The new faculty member will be expected to produce and develop a record of research/scholarly activities, including securing internal and external funding, publications and other contributions, commensurate with their area of expertise. The new faculty member will be expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students for their research projects. Collaborative projects within and outside of the university are encouraged. Service: The new faculty member will be expected to participate in undergraduate student advising. Committee service to the Department, College and University levels will also be expected. Departmental service includes curriculum development and program assessment and development. Active participation in Nutrition professional societies at the local and national levels is expected. The workload is based primarily on teaching; however, faculty are also expected to seek external funding to secure assigned (release) time for research/scholarly activities. Assigned (release) time will be provided during the first two years of the appointment mostly for the development of research/scholarly agenda. Minimum requirements include: An earned doctorate in Dietetics/Nutrition Education, Nutrition Biochemistry/Metabolism, Nutrition Research/Nutrition Science, Sustainable Food Systems, Public Health or a closely related field from an accredited university. A current Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential A commitment and a record of contributions to student success through applicant's teaching, scholarship, or service.
