Manager for Resource Team administers tasks associated with mid-level management. Responsible for the coordination of contract labor, including needs identification, facility contract cycle support, agency coordination, and HR systems process integration. Responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of statistical and financial information relating to contract labor processes. The manager is responsible providing accurate, relevant and timely analysis to the Executive Team, department directors, and other internal and external customers. This position creates, maintains and utilizes applicable tools to input, process, audit and disseminate information.

  • Documents and tracks agency resource assignments, onboarding cycles, and Extensions cycles using the appropriate Vendor Management System and internal database system
  • Provides documents from the appropriate Vendor Management system, Kronos, and internal database system to requesting parties
  • Coordinates divisional agency staff compliance and pre-employment requirements.
  • Facilitates pre-Contract coordination between the Resource Team, unit-level leadership and nursing services education for onboarding and orientation of agency staff
  • Provides a customer service approach to Resource Team and UTHET Divisional contact Labor processes
  • Supports staffing and scheduling functions/issues resolution for contract labor in collaboration with facilities with the UTHET Division to meet staffing goals
  • Acts as liaison between Unit-level leadership and contracting agencies for resolution of performance/behavioral issues.
  • Develops and directs the implementation of policies and procedures within contract labor processes; and recommends and/or participates in the development of policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Supports contract labor rate analysis, financial impact projections, and decision support for contingent labor.
  • Initiates activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment activities.
  • Monitors the progress of requests and ensures timely updates are kept.
  • Executes strategic planning, leads mentoring/coaching and identifying department succession strategy.
  • Analyzes and monitors compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years' clinical nursing experience in area of specialty preferred.

Education/Certification

  • Required Job Requirements
    • Graduation from an approved school of nursing
    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
    • BLS Required
    • At least two years recent experience in the nursing specialty
  • Preferred Job Requirements
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of nursing and healthcare administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical assessments and institute safe and efficacious care within the structure of a collaborative health team.
  • Considerable knowledge of requirements by federal, state or regulatory bodies.
  • Considerable knowledge of effective workforce utilization.
  • Knowledge of general financial management.
  • The employee should have a knowledge of basic office equipment and be proficient in the use of MS Office software (primarily MS Excel) and other office/finance applications.
  • The employee should be able to demonstrate positive, customer-focused interpersonal skills.
