Job Description ECU Health About ECU Health Home Health and Hospice ECU Health provides home health and hospice care in 20 counties across eastern North Carolina. Services are coordinated from offices in Ahoskie, Greenville, Kenansville, Washington and Windsor. In addition, ECU Health operates the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice, an 8-bed facility for patients who require a higher level of hospice care than can be provided at home. Position Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant II performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NAII listing granted by the NC Board of Nursing. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services. Responsibilities 1.Participates in quality Improvement (QI) Activities: Participates in problem solving resolution activities and identifies opportunities for improvement to change behavior. Participates in data collection. Employs safe practices, infection control, and fire and disaster regulations. Participates in cost savings activities. 2.Participates in Education: Attends and utilizes staff development programs and educational resources to meet unit objectives and/or individual objectives. Fulfills annual mandatory educational requirements. Participates in the orientation of new staff and students, as delegated by the supervising RN. 3.Follows hospital and unit based policies and procedures: Provides quality patient care. Maintains familiarity with job description and legal implications of role. Maintain active NAI and NAII licensure/certification. 4.Builds interpersonal relations and communications. Listens to the ideas, opinions, and feelings of others. Gives and receives constructive feedback. Recognizes and intervenes when personal conflicts have the potential to interfere with patient care or team relationships. Works effectively with others in a team environment. Demonstrates behaviors and attitudes that are respectful or others, and fosters enhanced communication and teamwork. Seeks help and utilizes chain of command appropriately. 5.Makes unit, department and hospital contributions: Participates in unit goal setting. Assists in cost-effective use of equipment and supplies. 6.Under the supervision of the licensed nurse, assists in providing direct patient care and completes delegated skills and tasks ascribed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and North Carolina Board of Nursing. 7.With appropriate education and training, may perform other duties as assigned (such as: EKGs, Phlebotomy, venipuncture, assisting in admission, transport, and discharge of patient). Minimum Requirements High School or GED is preferred - or higher Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required. Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required. Current American Heart Association HeartSaver certification is required. Preferred Requirements 1+ year NAII experience in acute hospital 1+ year NAII experience in skilled care/nursing home 1+ year NAII experience in nursing home Other Information Location: ECU Health - Hospice Inpatient Facility Shift: Days Hours: 7A-7P (Three 12hr shifts for a total of 36hrs/week) Weekends: Rotating Call: Yes Great Benefits.
