The Nurse Technician is a student currently enrolled in a Nursing program at an accredited school and has completed at least one academic term, which included a clinical component. Functions under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and within the scope of practice that the supervising registered nurse has determined is appropriate based upon the education and skills of the Nurse Technician and as defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training: Currently enrolled and in good standing in an approved nursing program approved by the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission, Washington State Department of Health; or other state nursing approval body for out of state residents. Coursework/Training: Completed one academic term which includes a clinical medical / surgical rotation. Coursework/Training: Complete a formal generic and on-unit orientation including skills checklist and medication test.
