Responsibilities - Reviewing requests for paid time off (PTO), vacation, maternity leave, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and unpaid leaves of absence
- Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
- Scheduling nursing and CNA staff in our nursing facility for the 8-hr shifts
- Keeping attendance records and assisting with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or tardies
- Communicating with unit managers and the director of nursing / chief nursing officer regarding floor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department
- Completing onboarding process for new-hires
- Submitting payroll on a biweekly basis for all staff
- Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes
- Signing time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out
- Approving contracts with temporary staffing agencies who send nurses / nursing assistants to the facility
- Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule

- COVID Vaccination Required
- Two years of bookkeeping experience within a healthcare setting, including, but not limited to: managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions
- Software proficiency such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public
- Must have knowledge of billing and collection practices/techniques
- Superior organization skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to multi-task
- Prior experience in Human Resources within a nursing center or healthcare setting
- Payroll experience
- Ability to build strong relationships and gain support from staff.
