Videos Help Duties Duties include but not limited to: Nurse Recruiter Roles and Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for the creation and continued oversight of nursing services program and clinical knowledge to assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate recruitment and retention efforts of nurse recruitment and retention program and functions within the facility. The incumbent will be knowledgeable in the on-boarding process and ensure all prospective applicants receive the education and tools to be successfully boarded. The incumbent serves as a resource for hiring managers, through the recruitment process and various human resources applications. Functions as an internal consultant in evaluating programs, resources, and services. The incumbent initiates and maintains databases, prepares, reports, and works collaboratively with other to assess variance and project needs. Assist the Associate Director of Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive in conducting salary surveys and implementing recruitment/retention strategies to maintain completive in the field. Conducts employee exit interviews and trends data. Pathway Excellence Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities The Pathway to Excellence Coordinator directly report to the Associate Nurse Executive/Chief Nurse of Nursing Business Operations The Pathway to Excellence Coordinator plays a vital role in interpreting the philosophy and communicating the goals of Nurse Service to other. Functions within established guidelines and demonstrates the ability to work effectively and develop sound relationships. The incumbent will assist in the coordination of various aspects of the ANCC Pathway to Excellence (PTE) pursuit, application, designation, and re-designation process. Serves as the PTE advisor to the leadership team and liaison to the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Office. The PTE Coordinator will assist in coordinating activities required to attain and maintain the PTE ANCC designation. The PTE Coordinator is expected to routinely meet with Nursing Executive Leadership to keep them informed of facility progress towards ANCC Pathway to Excellence standards, compliance, and designation. The PTE Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating strategic planning sessions aligned with Shared Governance (SG) and Evidence Base Practice. The PTE Coordinator provides administrative consultation for staff assigned to the Pathway to Excellence projects and administrative leadership to variety of staff directly involved in achieving Pathway to Excellence status. The PTE Coordinator develops written reports related to assessment and recommends change in the clinical practice environment which may be required in order to achieve Pathway to Excellence status. The PTE Coordinator provides administrative direction for the Shared Governance Councils and Unit Based Council. Services as a professional advisor to all nursing councils. Responsible for data collection, compilation, interpretation, and dissemination of quality and service indicators related to implementation of the Pathway Program throughout the organization. Provides oversight to create a Nursing Newsletter in collaboration with the Unit Based Council, Shared Governance Councils, and others as identified by Nurse Executive Council. Performs all other duties as requested or assigned. Qualifications Basic Requirements: English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE); OR Individuals attending a master's level bridge program in nursing who have completed coursework equivalent to a bachelor's level degree in Nursing may have opportunity to become registered as a nurse with a state licensing board prior to completion of the bridge program. Upon achievement of a State license, the individual may be appointed on temporary basis and later converted to a permanent appointment upon successful completion and graduation from the bridge program. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6); OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing to warrant an appointment as a Nurse who has completed an associated degree/entry level Nursing education program. Credit for foreign nursing education higher that associate degree/entry level requires a formal degree equivalency validation from a recognized equivalency evaluation accepted by VA such as International Consultants of Delaware (ICD). Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: Candidates who otherwise meet the basic education requirements, but do not possess the required licensure, may be appointed at the entry step of the grade and level applicable to the completed nursing education as a GNT on a 120-day temporary appointment while actively pursuing licensure (may be extended up to two years on a case-by-case-basis.) NOTE: Grandfathering Provision - All persons currently employed in VHA in 0610 series and performing the duties as described in the qualification standard on the effective date of the standard (1/29/2024) are considered to have met all qualification requirements for the grade held including positive education and licensure/certification.
