Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Oncology/Hematology, Jeanes Campus - FT, Day Shift, M-F
The position (CRNP or PA-C) supports the Jeanes Hospital in-patient consult service at Jeanes for both Medical Oncology and Hematology services. The position provides in-patient support 3-4 days/week plus two-four ambulatory clinical sessions at FCCC. The robust justification is in email sent 10/2/2023. The Advanced Practice Partner provides medical care and care coordination, increases patient access and contributes to improved quality for patients across all disciplines in the Temple Health University System. The Advanced Practitioner practices medicine on healthcare teams with physicians and other providers to improve coordination of care and improve patient outcomes. The Advanced Practitioner takes medical histories, conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, develops treatment plans, counsels on preventive care, assists in surgery and writes prescriptions all in accordance with their scope of practice, licensure guidelines, and in collaboration with the supervising physician. 80% effort is in-patient consult service, managing both solid tumor and hematology consults at the Jeans hospital. Always working with collaborative faculty the APP is responsible for NEW and F/U Consult patient services. Medical history, discussing with referring physician, identifying and ordering diagnostics, presenting to the Service Attending, managing follow-ups and TOC as needed. 20% of effort is in support of a TBN solid tumor or hematology ambulatory clinic. Working with a collaborative faculty this effort includes independent and shared visits of patients with cancer diagnosis and disease. The APP provides medical care and coordination including medical histories, physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, develops treatment plans, counsels on preventive and end of palliative care, understands supports chemotherapy treatment plans writes prescriptions all in accordance with their scope of practice, licensure guidelines, and in collaboration with the collaborative physician. Must have Oncology/Hematology training or experience and comfort on an in-patient service Monday -Friday 8-5; some holidays. NO on-call Requirements for CRNP: Education Masters Degree : Nursing (Required) Licenses & Certifications CRNP - PA Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (Required) RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required) BLS - Basic Life Support (Required) ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required) PRX-AUTH - Prescriptive Authority (Preferred) Experience 1 Year experience in a clinical specialty practice (Preferred) 2 Years experience as a nurse practitioner (Preferred) Requirements for PA: Education Other : Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
