Alaris Health at St. Mary's, a 188 bed-skilled nrsing facility in Orange, NJ, seeks a nurse practitioner (NP). Salary is dependent on years of experience.
NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP) RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses acutely ill residents to decrease unnecessary re-hospitalizations and emergency room visits
- Assesses residents for potentially at risk medical events such as wounds, strokes, falls et al. through unit rounds
- Provides education to staff, families and others on a routine basis based on identified educational needs
- Assists and directs the Center in standardization of clinical protocols, care regimens and formularies
- Develops short and long-range plans for the nursing department that are compatible with those of the facility
NP JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college or university
- Current nurse practitioner licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
- Master's prepared in adult or geriatric specialty
- Able to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills and have a positive attitude and demeanor
- Highly knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations, laws and guidelines pertaining to long-term care administration
