JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for administration and implementation of the health care service provision for individuals in our residential Family Emergency Shelter, Unity House. vide Peer Support for persons in Recovery. Maintain day to day functions and operational control of the Recovery Community Center in the absence of senior staff.




WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE:
The position requires current license as an APRN with the State of Kentucky. Preference given to candidates who have experience working both in residential settings, and with clients who are homeless. Must be comfortable working closely with adults and children in a shelter setting.




RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitors and provides acute nursing services for residents within emergency shelter 12 hours weekly/3 days a week.

2. Continuously assesses the effectiveness of nursing procedures and implements any changes

necessary to insure quality-nursing services.

3. Serves effectively as a consultation resource for staff and clearly communicates clinical expertise.

4. When necessary, effectively recruits nursing and health service personnel.

5. Makes recommendations for improvements for non-nursing services which impact the administration of nursing and other health related services. May coordinate and implement the education of other non-nursing staff on specific health related issues such as safety, infection control and preventative practices.

6. To ensure that all internal and external quality assurance plans are implemented as they pertain to clinical health related services.

7. Any other responsibilities as assigned to meet the mission of the agency.

8. Performance quality improvement (PQI) duties as assigned by supervision & PQI committee.

9. Able to administer and prescribe medications.
