Nurse Practitioner

Duties
Performs a combination of clinical care, education, and public health initiatives focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of tuberculosis. Comprehensive management of tuberculosis, focusing on providing high-quality care to patients, preventing the spread of infection, and promoting public health
  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis
  • Treatment Planning and Management
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work collaboratively with physicians, infectious disease specialists, public health officials, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care for patients with TB.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, share knowledge and expertise, and develop comprehensive care plans.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and facilitate the implementation of treatment plans.

  • Monitoring and Surveillance:
    • Participate in TB surveillance activities, including monitoring TB trends, identifying outbreaks or clusters of cases, and reporting cases to public health authorities as required.
    • Conduct contact investigations to identify and evaluate individuals who may have been exposed to TB, and implement appropriate testing and treatment interventions to prevent transmission.
Requirements
  • A current California license to practice as a Registered Nurse. (proof required)
  • AND A valid Nurse Practitioner certificate issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (proof required)
  • AND A valid Nurse Practitioner furnishing number issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (proof required)
  • AND A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certificate. (proof required)

M-F (typical day is 8 am to 5 pm)
