Position Nurse Practitioner Duties Performs a combination of clinical care, education, and public health initiatives focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of tuberculosis. - Patient Assessment and Diagnosis
- Treatment Planning and Management
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work collaboratively with physicians, infectious disease specialists, public health officials, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care for patients with TB.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, share knowledge and expertise, and develop comprehensive care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and facilitate the implementation of treatment plans.
- Education and Outreach:
- Monitoring and Surveillance:
- Participate in TB surveillance activities, including monitoring TB trends, identifying outbreaks or clusters of cases, and reporting cases to public health authorities as required.
- Conduct contact investigations to identify and evaluate individuals who may have been exposed to TB, and implement appropriate testing and treatment interventions to prevent transmission.
Requirements - A current California license to practice as a Registered Nurse. (proof required)
- AND A valid Nurse Practitioner certificate issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (proof required)
- AND A valid Nurse Practitioner furnishing number issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (proof required)
- AND A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certificate. (proof required)
