About the Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader to make a significant impact on a high-performing surgical services team within a Level 1 Trauma Center. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of exceptional patient care, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting the professional development of your staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Surgical Services department, aligning operations with the overall mission and goals of the medical center.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow, efficient resource allocation, and adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Recruit, hire, orient, and mentor a team of highly skilled nurses and surgical technicians.
- Develop and implement performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality and staff satisfaction.
- Create a positive and supportive work environment that fosters collaboration, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities for staff.
- Manage department budget and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in surgical procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with extensive experience in surgical services leadership (minimum 5 years).
- Current and unrestricted California RN license.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating a high-performing surgical services team.
- Strong clinical expertise in surgical procedures and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills with a focus on staff development and mentorship.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement.
