Requisition Number: R-15797 Facility: LOC0009 - 62 Columbian Building62 Columbian Street Weymouth, MA 02190 Department Name: SHS Clinical Informatics Status: Full time Budgeted Hours: 40 Shift: Day (United States of America) South Shore Health, Southeastern Massachusetts's leading provider of emergency, acute and outpatient care, is seeking an experienced Nursing Informaticist to join our Clinical Informatics team in support of our main hospital campus in Weymouth. Primary Mon-Fri day shift with some off-shift work for implementations, etc. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Informatics, the Nurse Informaticist serves in a system-level role across the organization specializing in patient care processes and clinician workflow, leading initiatives to promote effective process design, development and implementation of the electronic medical record and other technologies. Responsibilities Understanding clinical workflows, operational procedures, and organizational policies to support the technical, cultural, and process changes necessary for successful implementation and optimization of the electronic health record at South Shore Health Clinical information systems liaison for physicians and nurses Collaborate with end users to help define health care information system problems and solutions by participating in enterprise wide and system wide improvement teams Provide frontline education and support for clinical staff for proper use and optimization of Epic and related clinical systems Stay abreast of current trends of clinical documentation to represent ideas and concerns for the effective use of South Shore Health Clinical Information Systems Skills & Abilities Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills while demonstrating a high degree of objectivity, diplomacy, and tact Ability to apply nursing experience to improve the electronic health record and its adoption/intersection with clinical practice Able to manage priorities, deadlines, and execute tasks in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment MS Office Suite Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (MS in Nursing Informatics a plus) 3+ years of professional clinical nursing experience in acute care, ambulatory, or homecare Hands-on nursing informatics experience Current Massachusetts RN license Epic EHR software experience as a super user, trainer, or implementation project team member (knowledge of Epic Clinical modules preferred) Strong understanding of system analysis, system design, and process redesign including documentation of current and future state workflow processes ANCC Nursing Informatics Certification preferred M-F days with coverage for nights, weekends or holidays a needed for implementations.
