The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is currently searching for a committed and diligent Nurse Aide to join the team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) in Muncy. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Nurse Aide, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will deliver care in various areas such as skilled care, personal care, outpatient, and general population, performing basic nursing skills and procedures to maintain inmate health and ensuring proper documentation. Your responsibilities will include collecting specimens, assisting with daily living activities, and participating in life skills programming by following care plans, providing interventions, and documenting nursing care. Additionally, you will be expected to respond to emergency situations by performing procedures like cardiopulmonary resuscitation, managing obstructed airways, and participating in emergency response drills as required. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (40-hour work week) Work hours are 1st shift (6:30 AM to 3:00 PM), every other weekend and holiday off, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
