Nuclear Survivability Design Engineer with Security Clearance

Location: Taunton, MA
Wage Range: $60-90/hr depending on years of experience and qualifications
Job Number: 24-00119 Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Nuclear Survivability Design Engineer to work from their Taunton, MA facility. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Reliability, Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus 8 years of experience or Master's degree plus 6 years. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: Support development of a system-level approach that addresses Nuclear Survivability.
Analyze and decompose customer requirements wrt Nuclear Survivability
Update clientchassis specification with appropriate Nuclear Survivability requirements
Collaborate with design team on implementation of Nuclear Survivability requirements
Support requirements definition for component vendors; specifically wrt PSU vendors in creating a supply with a compliant shunt-to-ground off our trigger
Help identify components or component classes to avoid in a chassis and backplane to pass the identified thresholds/testing, regardless of NED
Provide input to design team to help establish pin diode levels for NED triggering per our levels
Support backplane / chassis implementation design reviews
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent understanding of Nuclear Survivability engineering processes
Full use and understanding of Reliability engineering concepts, principles, and theories
