Performs clinical diagnostic nuclear medicine testing, including general studies, and the computer interactions associated with these studies according to established policy and procedure for interpretation and subsequent evaluation by attending physician. The technologist will be required to rotate between Springfield and Urbana Heart House facilities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Assists with departmental QA as assigned as per ODH rules. Performs Nuclear Medicine studies at Springfield and Urbana Heart House facilities. Determines appropriate isotope required. Administers isotope per department policy and records dosage. Obtains patient history and reviews patient condition. Travels between Springfield and Urbana Heart House facilities. Operates equipment in the prescribed manner by setting proper technique, collimation, and protocol. Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered. Ensures quality images. Completes all paperwork. Uses PACS to send images for interpretation and storage. Able to print images or burn CD on request. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Transports patients to and from work areas. Prepares and maintains scan room. Contacts service for major malfunctions. Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Keeps license and CEU's current. Attends department meetings as required. Follows rules and regulations pertaining to ODH QA program 3701:1-66, ODH radiation protection standards 3701:1-38, ODH licensing requirements 3701-72, standards for radioactive materials license 3701:39-02.1. Other duties assigned. Required: CNMT or ARRT Registered; Current Licensed Radiographer in the State of Ohio, CPR/BLS Required Minimum Education: Vocational / Technical Degree Specialty/Major: Radiology Experience: 6 months of Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.
