Lorton, VA, USA Full Time Nuclear Detector, SME Lorton, Ft Belvoir, VA This is a Hybrid-Position EM Key Solutions seeks a Nuclear Detector SME to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The DTRA Division supports the Department of Defense in developing leading-edge technologies and supporting strategy, policy, and operations to bolster deterrence and counter weapons of mass destruction (WMD). We also provide the government with essential operational and technological support to enhance the nation's nuclear deterrent mission. Duties/Responsibilities: + Serves as a technical/scientific resource on projects, analyzing problems and applying theoretical techniques to develop solutions. + Works on advanced, complex technical projects and business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge of mechanics, fluid mechanics, quantum mechanics, geology, optics, acoustics, electricity, pneumatics, magnetism, and electromagnetic and particle radiation. + Subject matter expertise in nuclear and radiation detection and sensing technologies used to improve, integrate, and enhance senior leader decision support. + Advises on using, maintaining, testing, and developing mathematical and scientific models to study complex systems. Prepares technical documentation and presentations to explain the approach, associated assumptions, and conclusions of scientific investigations. + Provide advice and assistance with source selection decisions. + Support important technical interface client engagements, responsible for the quality, quantity, and timeliness of contracted work required to satisfy a range of technical performance, including nuclear technologies, weapons systems, emerging WMD threats, hazard prediction and mitigation, and detection systems. + Assists program managers with contract management items, such as acquisition package development, contract performance evaluation, and deliverables quality and acceptability assessment. + CONUS Travel: (10-30%) may be required. Required Qualifications: + Bachelor of Science in Physics, Engineering, or a relevant field related to Physics or Nuclear Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience. + Demonstrated success in R&D, acquisition, engineering programs, or projects. + The ability to work with common office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Skype, Windows, SharePoint). + Translating requirements and observations into clearly defined written products (briefings, reports, White Papers) in short timeframes. + Secret security clearance with the ability to acquire and maintain DoD TS/SCI clearance. Desired Qualifications + Master of Science or a Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant STEM field related to Physics or Nuclear Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience. + TS/SCI security clearance. + Experience in an engineering, scientific, or acquisition analysis function, including research. Clearance: An active Secret security clearance with the ability to acquire and maintain DoD TS/SCI clearance.
