The NDT Technician performs assignments requiring the general use and application of concepts, practices, and techniques for X-ray, FPI, and MPI inspection per NADCAP requirements. Approximately 80% of time setting up and performing NDT operations, and 20% maintaining records and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary. Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards. Ensure conforming quality castings by conducting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) using but not limited to the following methods: X-ray, Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and Visual Testing. Read and interpret procedural and standard practice requirements and related customer-specific requirements. Participate in and provide a documented training program which includes classroom and hands-on training when applicable. Upon completion of the training program, incumbent must pass a certification exam, including written exams and hands-on demonstration of testing method proficiency Conduct professional interactions with manufacturing team members, and customers or their designated 3rd party representatives. Maintain a safe and productive work environment, as well as a high standard of quality standards. Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed.
