Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our team as a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Technician 1 based out of Clearfield, UT.
This job involves performing and interpreting Ultrasonic (UT) inspections using automated inspection systems and handheld techniques to determine acceptability of composite aircraft parts throughout the manufacturing process for quality and design verification in a fast paced high rate production environment. Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED (education will be verified)
UT Level 1 classroom training/experience in operating basic Ultrasonic equipment in progress or completed
Ability to work flexible/changing schedules including weekends
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and special program access
Perform physical requirements of the position, including handling/positioning parts in the Ultrasonic inspection tanks to perform Ultrasonic inspections
Able to be subject to a variety of physical conditions and areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces
Able to lift up to approximately 25 pounds. May occasionally lift 50 pounds (with assistance)Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and familiarity with inspection/interpretation requirements of composite parts/materials.
Experience with Hand Held Pulse Echo Units (USM GO, USN 60)
Efficient at MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office systems
Must have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT method(s)
Must be capable of conducting NDT for the acceptance of parts and document the results
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team
Excellent communication skills are required
Ability to make sound decisions
Ability to multi-task
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplined team
Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher Salary Range: $38,600 - $64,300 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
