Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title: Operate 26-foot straight trucks on public roads to transport, load and unload material to EMS customers Operate vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and in accordance with generally accepted practices of safe driving Safely load and unload cargo as required Maintain ELD logbook in accordance with DOT regulations Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure Review shipping papers for nature of load and special handling requirements if any Check load to determine if it's properly secured and safe Backup truck to loading platform; turn narrow corners; negotiate narrow passageways; keep truck under control particularly on wet or icy highways Wear safety equipment when handling material Safely load and unload cargo as required Maintain the truck in a clean and safe manner Keep tarp clean, neat, folded, and secured on trailer Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs Qualifications Be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card No more than one major traffic violation within the past 5 years Lift and carry heavy material up to 50 lbs.; climb on and off a flatbed trailer Perform basic math Read a tape measure WE ARE A DRUG FREE WORKPLACE AND AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
