Nexus-Indian Oaks is hiring an Overnight Supervisor. A member of the Nexus family of treatment programs, Nexus-Indian Oaks is located 50 miles south of Chicago in the small, rural community of Manteno, Illinois. Position Summary: Provide leadership to direct care night staff and ensure the safety of residents and staff during the night shift. Primary responsibilities: Supervise the nightly operations of the programs and ensure the safety of residents and staff while securing the facility and grounds during the night shift. Provide floor supervision by providing work direction to staff, ensuring adequate program coverage, and monitoring resident movement; plan, organize and effectively manage multiple changing priorities. Ensure hourly checks of facility and its perimeters; secure doors, windows, and vehicles; record resident headcounts, and ensure compliance with scheduled and random room checks. Respond to and record resident incidents and engage in therapeutic interventions and de-escalations per established policy and protocol. Attend briefing sessions with appropriate staff to maintain pertinent information related to resident supervision and maintain all required resident records and documentation. Monitor the program milieu and ensure an emotionally and physically safe environment that is positive, respectful, clean, and therapeutic. Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures and protocols. Supervise fire and health inspections of the facility; document hazards and inform appropriate personnel of status. Perform First Aid/CPR procedures and supervise emergency interventions involving staff, inform appropriate personnel and follow standard operating procedures. Communicate respectfully, clearly and professionally with internal staff and external clients and families; maintenance of appropriate boundaries in all staff contact and interactions with residents. Supervise medication distribution and ensure accuracy of medication log (MN & IL only). Assist in the selection, training, on-going professional development, and performance evaluation of staff. Participate in the interview and selection of staff; support the ongoing development of individual staff and foster employee engagement through building cohesive and collaborative teams, leading by example. Demonstrate and promote flexibility and cooperation among team members and staff; demonstrate adaptability and adjust to changing needs and priorities of the business Teach, monitor, and facilitate the development of staff skills and knowledge regarding resident issues, individual treatment plans and phases, the provision of direct services, behavior management techniques and therapeutic interventions, compliance regarding Medicaid standards and the preparation and maintenance of resident case files and documentation. Prepare and conduct formal performance evaluations and provide performance management on an ongoing basis. Consult with the Human Resources Department on disciplinary issues. Provide resident transportation as needed. Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities. Ensure confidentiality regarding resident issues, background and treatment and comply with Nexus policies involving resident privacy and confidentiality rules for residents and their families. Perform other job and work-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed. Qualifications: Requires an associate degree or an equivalency in credits (60 college credits) Must be at least 25 years of age Valid driver's license required.
