JOB SUMMARY


  • To provide continuity of supervision and operation of facility during the NOC shift assuring that facility policies are followed, and that quality of care is maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing service administration experience.
  • Must possess current CPR certificate.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with personnel.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, visitors, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, young, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
  • May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., throughout the day.
  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including exposure to the (HIV) Aids and Hepatitis B viruses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Handle walk in visitors requesting a facility tour.
  • Make facility rounds on each floor and lower level.
  • Check outside grounds for cleanliness.
  • Notify appropriate Department Heads regarding immediate concerns, communicate all other concerns to the Administrator.
  • Report any incident regarding resident quality of care and equipment/building emergencies to the Administrator.
  • May initiate discipline, to be reviewed by appropriate Department Head/ Administrator, after investigating situation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
