ABOUT THE POSITION The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center, located in Moreno Valley, is currently recruiting New to Specialty Registered Nurses (RN) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our 32-bed, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides the backdrop to the high-touch, high-tech, high-quality care. Our nurses pride themselves on delivering to sick babies from 23 weeks gestational age and up. We have a dedicated neonatologist or neonatal nurse practitioner in-house 24/7. With only a door to separate us from the Labor and Delivery unit and operating rooms, our Advanced Response and Resuscitation Team is able to intervene quickly during complicated births. We value our active, collegial, and timely collaboration between physicians and front-line health care providers. As an academic medical center, our NICU team contributes to research and learning through participation in multi-center collaboratives, frequent drills with high-fidelity simulation equipment on the unit, and staff-led councils. Position Requirements Upon Hire: Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of CA. Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certification (NRP) S.T.A.B.L.E. certification (Within 6 months of hire.) Work Schedule: This is a 7:00pm- 7:00am (NOC) shift. To find out more about Riverside University Health Systems please visit: EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assess, plan organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions; make preliminary observations of patients and prepare patients for medical treatment Assist physicians in administering treatments and in performing medical examinations, diagnostic test and surgical operations. Administer or dispense prescribed treatment and medications to patients as directed; chart treatment and dispensing to patients; record and report significant changes in condition and general progress of patients. Counsel and advise patients, families and significant others regarding special medical problems and/or proper healthcare methods; prepare and maintain concise and complete records and reports. Instruct patients in carrying out physician's orders; transcribe physician's orders to working records. Participate in quality assurance reviews; act as a team leader. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Registered Nurse II - MC/CHC ($ 40.2869 - $62.3539) Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a health-related field may be required for some positions.) Experience: One (1) year of experience working as a Registered Nurse with an acute care hospital setting. Registered Nurse III - MC/CHC ($46.8209 - $70.6580) Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Experience: Three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse with an acute care hospital setting. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or national certification in a nursing specialty may be considered as a substitution for one year of the required experience. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing may be considered as a substitution for two years of the required experience.) License: Must possess and maintain a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California or valid out of state license with authorization to work in California. Certificates: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Knowledge of:The theory, techniques and practices of professional nursing; common medical terminology; hospital and/or healthcare procedures and equipment; the purposes and effects of medicine and narcotics. Ability to:Skillfully perform the full range of nursing duties and responsibilities; follow oral and written procedures; maintain concise and complete records and reports; plan and organize nursing plans; establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, patients, and co-workers.
