About this Position:

The Certification Engineer in New Model Quality is responsible for obtaining, evaluating, and verifying the required certification information and documents for all purchased OEM parts that make up a vehicle. The role included evaluating certification documents for adherence to regulations. Develop, manage, and report supplier certification status as required at New Model evaluation timing. Responsible for creating and managing SAPs for each project to plan and track plan vs actual activity. Work closely with the project team (QPSL, DSPL, and BPL) to ensure that all supplier certification is completed by the required milestones.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and maintain Certification status in compliance with NA Standards while implementing overall Zone Strategy for model assignments.
  • Review, evaluate and approve certification reports and provide judgement to internal (certification group) and external (suppliers) stakeholders to ensure that certification requirements are met, status is known, and gaps are followed to closure.
  • Prepare and report supplier certification status at evaluation timing including 4-Block activity status report to New Model leadership.
  • Confirm and evaluate certification part markings as required.
  • Support NM Department and Q-SPL Team meetings to communicate project status and upcoming evaluations.

Who we are seeking:

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in Engineering and/or Certification

Minimum Experience:

  • 3+ Years based on education and experience above

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Quality assurance, blueprint reading, part measurement, Catia/3D, MS office, communication skills.
  • Application of Honda Philosophy

  • Ability to balance workload, set priorities, and manage several projects simultaneously

Additional Position Factors:

  • Open Office Environment, limited travel, and overtime possible (approximately 4 hours of overtime per week)
