Supports and ensures high quality, comprehensive patient care services are provided. Partners with all physicians, inpatient unit/department leaders, outpatient clinic managers, and physician practice management team to ensure efficient throughput, high patient satisfaction and seamless day-to-day operations. Experience At least 5 years technical neurophysiology At least 2 years of experience in a management or administrative role in a progressive healthcare setting Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in business administration, health administration, or related field or experience equivalent 2 to 5 years of experience in service-related areas focusing on EEG quality improvement and service excellence Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Allied Health, OR Equivalent combination of education and experience which should include: Graduated from a CAAHEP accredited neurodiagnostic program and one of the following additional credentials in neurodiagnostics services plus 5 years of experience in neurophysiology (or willingness to obtain within 1 year). These credentials which can include, but are not limited to: R.EP.T. CLTM IONM EMG EP CNIM R.NCS.T. DABNM Certification Summary Registered by the American Board of Electro-neurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated ability to effectively manage departmental staff Must be able to demonstrate and teach knowledge of all neurophysiology procedures Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, IT specialists for EEGs, and employees Must be able to demonstrate patient-centered/valued behaviors Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budget and other financial skills Demonstrated leadership skills in facilitating and leading cross-functional teams Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective teams with physicians, nurses, both within and outside of the neurophysiology department Management of all human resources functions Proven track record of successfully managing a department/specialty service Well-developed organizational, communication, interpersonal, collaborative problem-solving ,and conflict resolution skills Able to partner with physicians in both private and academic settings Business acumen and contract negotiation Working knowledge of computers, word processors, spreadsheets, EEG software Personal adaptability and motivation Job Responsibilities Manages all operational aspects across multiple locations, including fiscal responsibility, performance metrics (e.g., staff retention, patient satisfaction), quality, performance improvement, IT specialists for EEG, and staff development (including IT specialists for EEG) Ensure neurophysiology technicians are trained and/or maintain required level of proficiency for set up, monitoring, etc. Establishes an operational plan for system integration and seamless care delivery for neurophysiology services. Monitors and manages access to neurophysiology services to ensure appropriate and timely access to diagnostic testing and other assessments. Manages the utilization of resources for effective and efficient services. Collaborates with medical staff and all levels of hospital personnel to assure high-quality, efficient, cost-effective care. Partners proactively with leadership teams of outpatient and physician practices for operational issues/opportunities that impact hospital-based neurosciences efforts and programs. Ensures accuracy of charges and documentation for all services provided by employed and/or contracted neurophysiology staff. Manage contracted vendor performance, including service level agreements, etc. Supports assigned physician program Medical Directors in identifying and implementing performance improvement initiatives, program presentations, and scorecards. Assists service line and physician leaders with building, gaining approval for, and effectively implementing business plans. Facilitates new technology work group. Coordinates inpatient and outpatient facility planning and design efforts. Implements grants as identified for Epilepsy Center in conjunction with service line leader and Chief, Neurosciences. Serves as operational representative for select program planning for both existing and new program development and implements additions/changes (in partnership with Chief, Neurosciences, and service line leader). Supports Physician Leaders and Medical Directors in the service line to develop neurophysiology pathways that improve quality of care and medical outcomes. Facilitates dissemination of quality results through scorecards and web tools. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth. Maximizes workflow and IT efficiency from ordering through reporting and monitors timely dissemination of results to ordering providers. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
